BRiaN'S WoRLD: Eighties Movie Shop
Here's some of my favorite/recommended eighties movies on dvd. Clicking on the band name will take you to their website. Clicking on the CASE COVER or MOVIE TITLE will let you purchase that particular Movie through AMAZON.COM.

PRETTY IN PINK (1986)
STARRING: Molly Ringwald, Andrew McCarthy, James Spader, Annie Potts
NOTES: One of my favorite 80s teen movies.
SOME KIND OF WONDERFUL (1987)
STARRING:
NOTES: The last of the John Hughes 80s teen films. Not nearly as good as his others.
CAN'T BUY ME LOVE (1987)
STARRING: Patrick Dempsey
NOTES: PG-13. The school geek pays the head cheerleader to pretend she'd dating him so he can become part of the "in crowd". This is a great movie.
GREMLINS: Special Edition (1984)
STARRING: Phoebe Cates
NOTES: I never realized how actually disturbing this movie was until I watched it again recently. It's not nearly as innocent and tame as I remembered. Check it out!
GREMLINS 2: The New Batch: Special Edition (1990)
STARRING: Pheobe Cates
NOTES: Not really an 80s movie, but the sequel to one. It counts.
SIXTEEN CANDLES (1984)
STARRING: Molly Ringwald, Anthony Michael Hall, Michael Schoeffling
NOTES: One of my favorite movies of all time. This film cracks me up. This DVD has been re-released and re-priced. You can thank your pals at Blockbuster Video for that. Ever wonder why all the small video chains are going out of business? Expect to pay around $80.00. That sucks. Sorry.
V: The Final Battle (1984)
STARRING:
NOTES: I really like this movie. This was the sequel to "V", a made for TV movie aired on NBC. For it's time and considering the fact that it was made for TV this movie looks pretty darn good and was one of my favorites.
BETTER OFF DEAD (1985)
STARRING: John Cusack
NOTES:
REAL GENIUS (1985)
STARRING: Val Kilmer
NOTES:
LESS THAN ZERO (1987)
STARRING: James Spader, Andrew McCarthy, Jamie Gertz,
NOTES:
ST. ELMO'S FIRE (1985)
STARRING: Demi Moore, Andrew McCarthy, Judd Nelson, Rob Lowe
NOTES:
BACK TO THE FUTURE: The Trilogy Box Set
STARRING: Michael J. Fox, Lea Thompson
NOTES:
E.T.: THE EXTRATERRESTRIAL:Special Collector's Edition (1982)
STARRING: Drew Barrymore
NOTES:
SAY ANYTHING (1989)
STARRING: John Cusack
NOTES:
ABOUT LAST NIGHT (1986)
STARRING: Demi Moore, Rob Lowe, Jim Belushi
NOTES:
FERRIS BUELLER'S DAY OFF (1986)
STARRING: Matthew Broderick, Alan Ruck, Mia Sara
NOTES: Awesome movie.
COCKTAIL (1988)
STARRING: Tom Cruise
NOTES: Tom Cruise is a bartender and tosses bottles around and sings while he overcharges folks for drinks.
MANNEQUIN (1987)
STARRING: Andrew McCarthy, Kim Catrell
NOTES: He's in love with her, but she's a mannequin- except when she comes to life. Scary.
SCROOGED (1988)
STARRING: Bill Murray, Bobcat,
NOTES: A modern (80s) version of the classic Christmas tale.
FRIDAY THE 13TH (1980)
STARRING:
NOTES:
FRIDAY THE 13TH: Part 2 (1981)
STARRING:
NOTES:
BEACHES (1988)
STARRING: Bette Midler
NOTES: I'm not a Bette Midler fan- at all. But if you dig this movie then here it is in all it's Midler-lovin glory.
