Duran Duran RIO
EMI/Capitol Records
Duran Duran's second album features "Rio", "Hungry Like The Wolf", and others. This is my favorite Duran record. In 2001 it was remastered and re-released on CD. It sounds great and they even added a few music videos on the CD. My favorite track on the album is "New Religion".

This was my first exposure to Laurie Anderson and I really think it's still my favorite. Lots of great stuff. Includes the underground hit "O Superman".

Donald's first solo record. Donald was of course lead singer of the great band Steely Dan. Features the hit "I.G.Y".

The Fixx SHUTTERED ROOM
MCA Records
The Fixx's first album. No big hits on this album but that doesn't mean it's not a quality recording. If you like The Fixx's other work then you'd certainly like this.

Peter Gabriel SECURITY (Melting Face)
Geffen Records
One of my favorites of Peter's. This is a super album. If you like it be sure to find the German version which has German vocals on the songs (also sung by Peter) and the music on this album lends itself beautifully to the German language. They work so great together that in some ways I almost like the German better. Features "Shock The Monkey".

Thompson Twins IN THE NAME OF LOVE
Arista Records
This is a US release. The Twins first in the US. It's a compilation of songs from their first two UK releases (SET and A PRODUCT OF). It's not a bad record. If you're a big Twins fan though you'll want both full albums. Unfortunately I don't know that they were ever released on CD. Too bad because there's a lot of great songs on them that aren't included here. The album is a little less polished than their later albums but no less upbeat or entertaining. Less synths and a little more percussion. Thomas Dolby plays on a few tracks.

Split Enz TIME AND TIDE
Mushroom/A&M Records
I'm a huge Split Enz fan. I really like pretty much ever song on this record alot. This album was never huge in the US, but it does include a few songs you may have heard such as "Six Months In A Leaky Boat", and my favorite "Dirty Creature".

Yaz (Yazoo) UPSTAIRS AT ERIC'S
Sire Records
Yazoo's first album. I like both of Yazoo's records equally. Dave Clarke (Depeche Mode) and Alison Moyet made a great bunch of songs together. Too bad it didn't last more than two albums. Not only is this album chock full of great soongs it's also one of the best cover photos ever IMHO. I like it so much I framed mine and have it hanging in my office. Dave went on to form Erasure and Alsion went on to a solo career.
