BRiaN'S WoRLD: Music: Faves of 1987

Here's some of my favorite/recommended music for this year. Clicking on the ALBUM COVER or ALBUM NAME will take you to a place to purchase that particular CD.

Art Of Noise - "In No Sense? Nonsense!"
Breathe - "All That Jazz"
Robbie Robertson - "Robbie Robertson"
Robbie made a comeback of sorts with this record. It's really nice sounding and has some great songs on it.
Erasure - "The Circus"
Inxs - "Kick"
Simply Red - "Men and Women"
Grace Jones - "Slave To The Rhythm"
Trevor Horn produced this "experiment" in sound for Grace Jones. To be honest there's a lot of filler on this album and most of the songs are derived from the title track, but there is some amazing stuff technically on this album. In the late 80s/early 90s I would use this CD to test cd players and audio systems in stores.
REM - "Document"
Mr. Mister - "Go On..."
Mr. Mister's last released studio album. It's less "electro-pop" and more acoustic than its predecessor, WELCOME TO THE REAL WORLD. I like it a lot but it didn't get much attention commercially. Their next album was unfortunately never released.
OMD - "Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark"

Other noteworthy albums of 1987:
Rick Astley - "Whenever You Need Somebody"
David Bowie - "Never Let Me Down"
The Dolphin Brothers - "Catch The Fall"
The Dukes Of Stratophere - "Chips From The Chocolate Fireball"
Love and Rockets - "Earth, Sun and Moon"
Features "No New Tale To Tell"
Alison Moyet - "Raindancing"
U2 - "The Joshua Tree"
Roger Waters - "Radio KAOS"
XTC - "Black Sea"
XTC - "Murmer"
